If you want to shop a bit more locally, seasonally, and sustainably, heading to your nearest farm shop is a brilliant idea. This post features an up to date list of almost all Dorset farm shops, broken down by location to help you find the right one.
There’s a huge variety of shops to discover. From small-scale vendors selling meat straight out of the farm freezer, to larger shops offering locally-made products from around the county.
Some even have onsite cafes where you can grab a homecooked meal or yummy cake! So get out and discover what’s on offer at your local farm shop. And if you think there’s somewhere missing from this list, please leave a comment so I can add it in!

Farm Shops near Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole
There are several farm shops to choose from in and around the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole area. Particularly over near Wimborne Minster and the farmland around the rich Stour River area. Farm Shops near Weymouth
Perched in the middle of Dorset’s stunning coast, Weymouth is surrounded by lots of rich farmland. Particularly amongst the hills around Abbotsbury, as well as around Osmington and Preston on the other side of the town. There are several fab farm shops in the surrounding area, all within easy reach of the town.

Farm Shops in Dorchester and Central Dorset
Dorchester sits almost in the middle of the county, surrounded by some of Dorset’s finest farmland and countryside. So it’s no surprise that there are a few brilliant farm shops dotted around the town. Most of the options near Weymouth above are also within easy reach of Dorchester. Bridport and West Dorset Farm Shops
Bridport is historically a market town, known for the excellent local produce brought in by fishermen from nearby West Bay and by farmers from the many surrounding farms. The regular farmers’ market is, of course, a great place to pick up local produce. It’s held in Barrack Street and the Lyric Theatre on the second Saturday of every month (9am-1pm). However, plenty of the nearby farms also feature shops and cafes, so you can buy direct too.

The northeast corner of Dorset, including Blandford Forum and the picturesque Cranborne Chase AONB, is home to some of the county’s best farmland.
