If you’re looking for some Halloween events in Dorset this October half-term, we’ve got you covered! Get ready for lots of spooky fun, fancy dress, and themed days all around the county.
There are spooktacular events all across Dorset this Halloween, from family-friendly events at your favourite local attractions, to adults-only club nights and horror events. We’ve also listed a few local pumpkin patches where you can PYO and pose for pics among the pumpkins!

Weymouth Halloween Parade

A huge Halloween parade will run throughout Weymouth town centre, full of zombies, witches, ghouls and more. The parade will start from Millennium Square (outside the Range in New Bond Street).
Trunk or Treat
Dates: 30 October 2025
Times: 6-8pm

The above Halloween parade ends at Melcombe Regis Car Park for a “Trunk or Treat extravaganza”. Expect around 40 decorated cars, sweets and gifts for the kids, activities, refreshments available to purchase, and prizes for the scariest Halloween trunk!

Serafina the Sea Witch is back at Sea Life Weymouth for 2024! Follow an immersive activity trail to help her look after her ocean home and fellow sea creatures by completing ‘spook-splash-tic’ challenges throughout the aquarium.
Make your way to the Witch’s lair where she will cast her spell to open her treasure chest revealing a special reward!
Halloween Fun at the Fort

During Halloween, the Nothe Fort becomes the spookiest place in Weymouth! As always, they’re running an exciting programme of family activities – including ghost tours, a Wand-making Workshop, Pumpkin Golf, Creepy crafts, and more!
Brave the famous ghost tunnels and come face to face with the “Whistling Gunner”. Fancy dress is encouraged! Activities are free with your entry ticket to the Fort.

This October half term, venture through Weymouth Town Centre on a Zombie Halloween trail where riddles must be unravelled, puzzles conquered, and cunning tested. Only then can the villains be banished back into the shadows before their curse takes hold forever. All those who correctly complete the challenge will win a small prize.
Halloween Trail at Durlston Country Park
Dates: 22 October – 5 November 2025

Head to Durlston Country Park, just outside Swanage, for a Halloween Children’s Activity Trail. Collect your activity trail booklet from the Castle reception, then set off on a spooky trip around the park.
Halloween Half Term at Farmer Palmer’s

Head to Farmer Palmer’s for SPOOKTACULAR fun for little ones this Halloween Half Term! This year, expect “Soak-a-Spook” Tractor Rides, Halloween hunt, “Snotbags Disco”, the Spooky Maize Maze, and more.
Most of the farm park has a spooky makeover (some areas remain spook-free for anyone not into Halloween). Dressing up is highly encouraged!
Spooky Forest Trail at Moors Valley

Returning for its second year: explore the forest at Moors Valley Country Park after dark with a brand-new Halloween illuminated trail! Booking required. There are three different sessions to consider – the darker it gets, the spookier it gets:
Daylight – Most suitable for the youngest visitors.
Twilight – The scare level ramps up a notch.
Moonlight – As scary as it gets (but still suitable for all)

Make your way around the picturesque gardens following an interactive trail. Includes an activity trail sheet and a Halloween treat.
UPDATE: It’s currently unclear if The Haunted Forest Trail will be returning to Upwey Wishing Well this half-term. However, there are two special Halloween-themed brunches in the restaurant – a “Bluey and Wednesday” brunch on 25 October 2025 and a “Taylor Swift X Stitch Spooky Brunch” on 31 October 2025 – more info here.

Update: sadly, the Pumpkin Patch did not run in 2024. The farm said that the inclement weather this year has meant that their pumpkins have not grown as well as usual. Hopefully, they’ll be back in 2025!
